Our Vision
Miles To Go Before We Sleep
Trauma Care, is still in its early stages, in our country, and is limited to few trauma centers and trauma units in the hospitals. Our Accident Rate on the roads is highest in the world (56 deaths per 10, 000 vehicles) but once the accident occurs, we have the highest percentage of mortality, than anywhere else in the world.
We have to come together as a community dedicated to improving trauma care, medical emergency care and saving lives and take collective action.
The World
The West and other developed nations, realized very soon, that merely, having more trauma centers and trauma units- valuable as they certainly are in trauma care, are not sufficient.
The Realization
The founding fathers of the Association realized that the care of the injured is beyond the narrow scope of individual medical professionals.
What We Need
To control this disease of Trauma of modern mankind, we need a Systematic Approach- of Pre-hospital Care, Development of EMT cadres, Legislations, Education, Engineering, Enforcement of Traffic Rules and Research, all to be developed simultaneously and with equal importance.
If society has to take effective steps to curb the drastic effects this growing epidemic can have on our near and dear ones, we also have to simultaneously address societal issues and involvement of different professionals, directly or indirectly connected with trauma.
